One of our models, Gabriela, gave us a glimpse on how a bad-ass Urban Fairy looks like. We had her as a model for two of our photo shoots and the second video will be out soon. This project “Sanziene in Urban” was initiated by me and my husband, Radu Niculescu, back in 2015 as a movement of influencing the young generation to discover the “old” blouses that their grand-mothers used to make and cherish them, wear them. We have been inspired by the cultural movement La Blouse Roumaine and the love for our country. These photos are taken by Mihnea Avram in the pub Strings, in Constanta. The model, Gabriela Prisacaru, is wearing a traditional Romanian blouse from Maramures, made available for this project by me. Assistants were Radu Niculescu and Alina Spinu. Alina Spinu was as well in charge for the hair and make-up.

I know this video should have been uploaded last year, but I have started working at it multiple times and never got to finish it properly. I initiated this project along with my husband back in 2015 in an attempt to show to the Romanian public that the vintage blouses, that are part of our identity culture, are not unfashionable and that we can wear them with pride. The main group of target was the young generation that has barely any contact with the authentic traditional elements. I have to mention that the ideas that influenced me into discovering the beauty of he authentic are La Blouse Roumaine and Semne Cusute (Ioana Corduneanu). In this video you can get a glimpse of the photos that were taken in this project, we skipped filming the makeup process (done by Alina Spinu). In 2016 me and my husband worked along side with Alina Spinu who was as photographer, assistant, makeup artist and hair stylist. Not to mention her constant support. Diana Curca was the main photographer, Radu Niculescu was as assistant, makeup by Alina Spinu. Traditional Romanian blouse from Rucar, Fagaras borrowed from miss Brindusa Darmina. The Facebook page for this project is https://www.facebook.com/SanzieneinUr… and the web page is http://www.sanzieneinurban.com Not all the photo shootings had video of making of but the results of 2015 and 2016 have been published. As well you can find the team behind all the photos.
This year has been productive for me, in all plans. I am happy and the future projects that came up towards me will help me grow more as a person.
I started and finished this year many things, one of them being this traditional Romanian blouse from Botosani. I wore it on the 24th of June.
I just wanted to leave this part of my journey, here on the blog.
Happy July everyone!
I am so happy that 2016 is over, it was a terrible year, full of bad life lessons that were necessary.
What I learned:
I learned not to trust people, even if they are sick. People are assholes, even the ones that don’t look like they are.
I can do magical things happen, thats why people fear me. I am talking about my work.
Its is pointless to help everyone, especially the ones that need to be in a certain situation. If someone is miserable is because he decided to be like that and he/she needs to feel the pain of the bad choices he/she took.
Never do things for free! I did so much volunteer work while others were making money from my influencing.
The world is bigger than a liars ego! I believed for a moment that I don’t deserve to be appreciated, because I failed myself and others. Realizing that I didn’t failed others and just myself, I saw the lies and the plots and how much I was limiting myself to make them happy!
Keep what you love as a hobby, not as a job! Especially if is an unpaid job! Making traditional blouses will be just a hobby, not to teach others for free anymore.
Trusting my gut! I know I am weird and that new people in my life are having a hard time understanding me, I used to open myself more in 2016 because I believed I needed to be more sociable. It is ok to be antisocial.
Friends are friends as long as they need something from each other!
People are assholes and it is part of life! I accept that and continue my journey!
This year I will learn Danish language and by the end of the year I will be a better version of myself!
I love it here in Denmark and I will post soon about the beauty that I found here and some advices on how to survive depression.
Thank you for reading and I hope you will come back to see how I am doing!
Just like last year, I made a selection of cute clothes and things that I like and would love to receive for the winter holidays.
I didn’t manage to get the last years stuff from my wish list but I hope that 2017 will be a better year for all of us and I will be able to buy myself a Sailor Moon broche.
Cute Harajuku has many cute stuff and here is my wish list from there:
I would love these boots, the red ones in particular.
This Sailor Moon dress is just amazing <3
If you love Harry Potter as much as I do you can find some good stuff here:
Hermione Granger’s wand.
This book I hope to get it by the end of this year, it is on my wish list for months!
One more thing that I want to share with you guys is this beautiful artwork by Madalina Tantareanu:
I highly recommend you to check out her easy shop, she had great art works and the prices are more that acceptable.
Let me know it I helped out with some ideas for this year! Happy Holidays dear readers!
It is supposed to be a scary day and it is, in some way. I somehow feel like being at the edge of a cliff and almost falling, but when I look back I realize I was in a very bad place when I was 19, even at 9 years old. So looking ahead is not as scary as it was when I was younger.
It is a mixture o relief and anxiety, a feeling that somehow I am a better version of myself than I was 10 years ago. I feel free to reinvent myself and learn new stuff.
Age it’s not just a number, it is a reminder that you have to improve yourself in some way.
Because it is my birthday I will share with you people some of the best pictures of me taken this year.
I am wearing a traditional Romanian costume from Cluj, Transilvania.
Photography by Radu Niculescu, hair and assistant Alina Spinu.

I was not a fan of these type of blouses until I started working on cruise ships and the identity crisis hit me.
I was meeting people from around the word that had a perfect image of their culture and identity and I felt that I barely knew anything about my country. We, Romanians, have a lot in common with our country neighbors and in many ways I couldn’t express myself properly about what makes us different.
So I started reading books about our culture and the old religion and I somehow feel in love with what I was discovering.
I was searching for things like embroidered blouses and at that time they were back in fashion. Designers were inspired by the east European traditional blouses and I bought myself one. I was so proud of myself!
The next step was to buy an hand made one and to wear it around the word while working on the cruise ship.
It didn’t take long until I had the courage to embroide my own blouse with the help of the blog Semne Cusute who explained all the symbols used on the authentic Romanian blouse.
For the first time in my life, everything made sense and I felt Romanian.
As I look now, I am proud of myself for all the lessons and blouses that I finished embroidering.
I dream to have a special closet full of blouses made by me from each corner of Romania.
My journey is still at the beginning and I hope you guys can appreciate my work so far!
