I know this video should have been uploaded last year, but I have started working at it multiple times and never got to finish it properly. I initiated this project along with my husband back in 2015 in an attempt to show to the Romanian public that the vintage blouses, that are part of our identity culture, are not unfashionable and that we can wear them with pride. The main group of target was the young generation that has barely any contact with the authentic traditional elements. I have to mention that the ideas that influenced me into discovering the beauty of he authentic are La Blouse Roumaine and Semne Cusute (Ioana Corduneanu). In this video you can get a glimpse of the photos that were taken in this project, we skipped filming the makeup process (done by Alina Spinu). In 2016 me and my husband worked along side with Alina Spinu who was as photographer, assistant, makeup artist and hair stylist. Not to mention her constant support. Diana Curca was the main photographer, Radu Niculescu was as assistant, makeup by Alina Spinu. Traditional Romanian blouse from Rucar, Fagaras borrowed from miss Brindusa Darmina. The Facebook page for this project is https://www.facebook.com/SanzieneinUr… and the web page is http://www.sanzieneinurban.com Not all the photo shootings had video of making of but the results of 2015 and 2016 have been published. As well you can find the team behind all the photos.
We worked hard to make some beautiful photos to promote the event from 2015. I finally got to finish this video and share our work with the world! I hope you like it and appreciate our effort.
This year has been productive for me, in all plans. I am happy and the future projects that came up towards me will help me grow more as a person.
I started and finished this year many things, one of them being this traditional Romanian blouse from Botosani. I wore it on the 24th of June.
I just wanted to leave this part of my journey, here on the blog.
Happy July everyone!
Am apucat sa filmez cateva momente din primele sedinte foto pentru Sanziene in Urban!
Multumim frumos Dana Buda ca ai acceptat sa ne fi model!
I was not a fan of these type of blouses until I started working on cruise ships and the identity crisis hit me.
I was meeting people from around the word that had a perfect image of their culture and identity and I felt that I barely knew anything about my country. We, Romanians, have a lot in common with our country neighbors and in many ways I couldn’t express myself properly about what makes us different.
So I started reading books about our culture and the old religion and I somehow feel in love with what I was discovering.
I was searching for things like embroidered blouses and at that time they were back in fashion. Designers were inspired by the east European traditional blouses and I bought myself one. I was so proud of myself!
The next step was to buy an hand made one and to wear it around the word while working on the cruise ship.
It didn’t take long until I had the courage to embroide my own blouse with the help of the blog Semne Cusute who explained all the symbols used on the authentic Romanian blouse.
For the first time in my life, everything made sense and I felt Romanian.
As I look now, I am proud of myself for all the lessons and blouses that I finished embroidering.
I dream to have a special closet full of blouses made by me from each corner of Romania.
My journey is still at the beginning and I hope you guys can appreciate my work so far!
It’s that time again! The moment when I share with you what I want for myself and maybe will buy it if I get lucky. I always come back to Tokyo Otaku, not because they send me e-mails with their best offers, but because I sometimes need some inspiration in my life. Growing up watching anime, I made a safe place in my head where everything can be perfect and cute and lovely.
Tokyo Otaku is one of the online shops that helps me get to that safe place and dream.
<3 Shoes <3
If I had to pick just one item, I will pick for sure the notebook bag, I just love it! <3
I save a wish list every season, and try to find something similar in my country, but I am always disappointed. It is hard to find nice and cute dresses like this ones, not to mention this type of shoes. Oh well, I hope you liked my wish list and I hope you will find that nice place I was talking about! Happy Spring! <3
And guys, if you sign up until the 28th of March you may get a $50 coupon and buy yourself some nice stuff for this Spring!
Thank you for reading! Do you have a wish list?
I am so excited to share these pictures with you guys!!!! Back in 2014, when I started embroidering my own traditional blouses, I feel in love with a traditional blouse from the area of Margau, in Transilvania. I never had the chance to try one out, just admiring it through pictures and dreaming that one day I will get my chance.
Well, that chance came today! One of the members of our group, Sezatoare Constanta, has bought 2 blouses from that area and she showed them to us! I got the chance to try them on myself and it was pure joy. I was like a little kid in a candy store.
For the first time in my life I was happy that I am so petite, the long blouse is a size S and the short one I think XS (not joking).
Both of them are authentic vintage blouses and most of the time you see them in Museums!
I feel so blessed that I had the chance to wear these wonderful pieces of art and to share the pictures with you guys!
What do you guys think?
